Archery Rules
- Follow Range Rules: Always know and strictly adhere to the range rules.
- Listen to Your Coach: Follow your coach’s instructions at all times.
- Inspect Equipment: Check your equipment carefully before shooting.
- Walk, Don’t Run: Always walk on the range; running is prohibited.
- Shooting Line: Stand on the same shooting line as other archers.
- Clear Line: Ensure your shooting line is clear before beginning.
- Quiver Safety: Keep arrows in your quiver until you are ready to shoot.
- Arrow Direction: Always point arrows downward or towards the target.
- Shooting Stance: Straddle the shooting line with one foot on each side.
- Shooting Lane Safety: Never cross a shooting lane while others are shooting.
- Proper Nocking: Only shoot a bow with an arrow properly nocked.
- Avoid Dry Fire: Never shoot without an arrow (dry fire).
- No Sky-Draw: Never shoot an arrow into the air.
- Target Shooting: Only aim at targets in your designated lane.
- Support Fellow Archers: Encourage and support your fellow archers.
- Maintain Space: Allow other shooters plenty of space.
- After Shooting: Once you’ve shot all your arrows, step back from the shooting line, place your bow on the rack, and wait.
- Clearing the Range: Once everyone has finished, ask “Clear?” and wait for confirmation before walking downrange to retrieve your arrows.
- Arrow Retrieval: When pulling arrows, ensure no one is standing directly behind you.
